HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT OUR WORK
You can easily help us achieve our mission by making a donation.
Consider becoming a Monthly Donor: your regular contribution helps Clubhouse Gibraltar ensure the sustainability of the Clubhouse.
The Clubhouse is self financing and relies on grants from the Gibraltar Government Local trusts or foundations, fundraising activites including a charity shop and on generous donations of people and organisations who believe in our cause. Please help us keep this project growing to make a difference in the lives of those affected by with mental illness in Gibraltar.
BECOME AN EMPLOYER
Clubhouse employment programs are some of the most successful vocational rehabilitation programs in today’s community mental health systems.
Employment continues to be a high priority for people living with serious mental illness: their unemployment rate is generally over 80%.
How you as an employer can help
You and your company can help end the vicious cycle of dependence and isolation that so often prolongs the devastating effects of mental illness on individuals and their families by joining the community of businesses around the world that are helping Clubhouse members become respected members of society through employment. For more information contact email@example.com. As a right of membership, Clubhouse provide members with both Transitional Employment and Independent Employment opportunities.
Transitional Employment (TEP) : is a highly structured program for members returning to work in a local business and industry . Transitional employment is specifically designed as a vocational rehabilitation program where a member can gain or re-gain the skills and confidence necessary to have a job while employed in a ‘real world’ position. The only requirement for the member to participate in Transitional Employment is the expressed desire to work.
Placements are at the employer’s place of business and are part-time (10-20 hours per week).
Placements include a lot of on-the-job and off site support from Clubhouse staff and other members.
Placements generally last six to nine months. Members can then try another placement or move to independent employment.
Independent Employment: is a program of the Clubhouse through which members when ready, are given help from the Clubhouse to apply for and obtain a job of their own.
The Clubhouse provides ongoing support and encouragement for members who are independently employed.
There is no on-site support at the place of business for members who are independently employed; all of the support takes place at the Clubhouse or in the community
Supported Employment positions are not time limited and may be full or part-time. There may be a competitive element to the interview process. In SE, the clubhouse maintains a relationship with the employer and member, assists with job site development and training. The clubhouse does not provide absence coverage.
Independent Employment positions are generally secured by the member. Employment supports are as frequent as the member chooses and are provided at the Clubhouse. Members decide if they wish to disclose their relationship with the Clubhouse to the employer. Independent Employment can be full or part-time.
The Employment Program covers our Transitional Employment Placements (TEPs), Supported Employment and Independent Employment support. Clubhouse Gibraltar aims to help members gain more independence and re-enter the workforce when possible.
A Transitional Employment job is a part time job, usually 6-9 months in duration. In TE, the clubhouse develops and maintains a relationship with the employer and provides onsite training and support with backup coverage during periods of member absence. Members receive a wage at or above the national minimum wage. Clubhouse Gibraltar staff provide training, support, and absentee cover on all positions. No formal interview is required.
