PROVISIONS

EMPLOYMENT

The Education Program at Clubhouse Gibraltar strives to assist members in meeting their individual educational goals. We currently provide support to members undertaking courses at Gibraltar College and encourage our members to apply for courses and gain meaningful education as part of their personal career development if they wish to do so, also offering in-house support and educational activities and training.

Supported Employment

Supported Employment positions are not time limited and may be full or part-time. There may be a competitive element to the interview process. In SE, the clubhouse maintains a relationship with the employer and member, assists with job site development and training.  The clubhouse does not provide absence coverage.

Independent Employment

Independent Employment positions are generally secured by the member. Employment supports are as frequent as the member chooses and are provided at the Clubhouse. Members decide if they wish to disclose their relationship with the Clubhouse to the employer. Independent Employment can be full or part-time.

The Employment Program covers our Transitional Employment Placements (TEPs), Supported Employment and Independent Employment support. Clubhouse Gibraltar aims to help members gain more independence and re-enter the workforce when possible.

Transitional Employment

A Transitional Employment job is a part time job, usually 6-9 months in duration. In TE, the clubhouse develops and maintains a relationship with the employer and provides onsite training and support with backup coverage during periods of member absence. Members receive a wage at or above the national minimum wage. Clubhouse Gibraltar staff provide training, support, and absentee cover on all positions. No formal interview is required.

HOUSING

Clubhouse supports its members in a wide variety of housing issues. This involves their living conditions, assistance in following up enquiries and liaison with the Housing Department.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

HOW TO BECOME A CLUBHOUSE GIBRALTAR MEMBER

A Clubhouse is first and foremost a community of people. Much more than simply a program, or a social service, a Clubhouse is most importantly a community of people who are working together toward a common goal. Clubhouse Gibraltar is open to any person who has been diagnosed with a mental illness at any time in their lives and would like support or be part of a support structure which helps people develop to their full potential. Members work on their recovery at their own pace through a combination of being a part of a community, being part of a work unit and accessing our services such as housing, employment, education, etc.
